Big Give, Global’s Make Some Noise and NCVO launch inaugural Small Charity Week match funding campaign
Big Give, Global’s Make Some Noise, and NCVO announce the launch of their inaugural Small Charity Week match funding campaign. This seven-day online campaign, running from the 23rd – 30th of June 2025, aims to support small charities across the UK and will bring much-needed financial and training support to small charities making a big difference in their communities. Big Give, the UK’s largest match funding charity, will be hosting the campaign on its platform.
Applications open on the 19th of February and close on the 2nd of April, with funding offers announced by the 7th of May. To be eligible, charities must have an annual income between £5,000 and £1 million.
Small Charity Week celebrates the essential contributions of small charities in strengthening communities. The week creates a wealth of training, practical tools and advocacy opportunities, enhancing the resilience and profile of these ‘small-but-mighty’ organisations. Despite their impact, smaller charities are consistently unseen and underfunded, and their impact unrecognised due to their size and focus on service delivery (Centre for Social Justice, 2024). However, recent research reveals a strong public desire to support these organisations.
The funds raised through this campaign will provide small charities with crucial unrestricted funding, enabling them to continue tackling social challenges and transforming lives across the UK.
Big Give has a proven model for multiplying generosity, having raised over £345 million for thousands of charities since being founded in 2007. During the campaign, public donations will be doubled by Global’s Make Some Noise, through Big Give’s match funding model, thanks to the generosity of Champion funders, including People’s Postcode Lottery. This means each pound donated goes twice as far in empowering small charities in their mission.
Global’s Make Some Noise, the official charity of Global, the Media and Entertainment Group, has funded over 480 life-changing projects delivered by small local charities across the UK for the last 11 years, with the mission that nobody should face life’s toughest challenges alone. The charity has over a decade of experience in funding high-impact projects in the heart of communities, supporting small charities with their longer-term sustainability through a Learning and Development offering and providing a voice to raise awareness of key issues affecting UK communities. This will bring invaluable support to the campaign.
As the membership body for charities, NCVO supports thousands of small charities across the country. Through this joint initiative, NCVO will strengthen the skills, resilience, and visibility of small charities, helping them maximise their fundraising potential and amplify their collective impact.
