For many the festive period is a time for celebrating with family and friends, sharing food and gifts.
For a growing number of families, this time of year means making impossible decisions between giving their child a gift or a hot meal. The number of families relying on food banks is increasing with even more families expected to need extra help over the winter period.
For others, this time of year brings a more hidden burden. Some carry the heavy weight of grief, anxiety or loneliness, and some dread having no one to celebrate alongside.
That’s why we need your help to fund vital projects providing a lifeline to those struggling this winter, to make sure that nobody is left to face their biggest challenge alone.
We need your donations to help people like baby Primrose and her family, who were supported by Tiny Tickers, helping them to feel prepared for their journey ahead, and less alone.
This winter we’re asking you to give just £10, which could buy a book or toy for a child who would otherwise not receive one this Christmas.
“In November 2022 we knew there was a chance that we would be in hospital over Christmas, so we tried to celebrate early. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to as Primrose our daughter was admitted to hospital. Primrose struggled with her weight gain, viruses and oxygen levels, so we were transferred from our local hospital to one in London to await her next open heart surgery.
“Primrose has three older siblings and as Christmas approached, we felt sad and guilty we couldn’t be at home. Christmas is the most magical time of the year spent with the ones you love but we were miles away from our home and family. As this was Primrose’s first Christmas, it wasn’t what we quite expected but we made the most of what we had… each other.” ❤️
